Reorganization of Research Institutions under the Ministry of Science and Education: Establishment of the Institute of Physics Public Legal Entity
On 4 April 2025, pursuant to Part 1 of Decree No. 545 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Institute of Radiation Problems and the Institute of Physics under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan were liquidated. In their place, a new entity — the Institute of Physics Public Legal Entity — was established under the same Ministry.
This restructuring was implemented within the framework of the optimization of research centers, aimed at increasing institutional efficiency, strengthening coordination of scientific activities, and modernizing research management mechanisms.
The newly established Institute of Physics Public Legal Entity is expected to conduct broader and more optimally structured research activities by consolidating scientific infrastructure, laboratory resources, and expert potential. The reform is intended to enhance interdisciplinary research, improve the quality and impact of scientific outputs, expand international collaboration, and ensure more effective commercialization of research results.
