An event was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems to commemorate the 5th anniversary of November 8 - Victory Day
An event was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education to celebrate the 5th anniversary of November 8 - Victory Day.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, the Director General of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS Islam Mustafayev, highlighted the historical and spiritual significance of November 8 - Victory Day for the Azerbaijani people. He emphasized that the triumph in the 44-day Patriotic War was made possible by the unity of the nation, the strength of the armed forces, and the decisive leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief. He further noted that this victory represents a celebration of the national spirit, statehood, and patriotic values.
In his speech, Islam Mustafayev underscored the importance that President Ilham Aliyev places on science and national values, highlighting that the development of science and education in the spirit of patriotism occupies a central place in state policy. He noted that, in this context, the staff of the Institute remains committed to fulfilling its responsibilities with diligence and dedication.
Following this, the Executive Director of the Institute, PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor Ravan Mehdiyeva, delivered a speech, emphasizing that Victory Day is a historic event that has left an enduring mark in the memory of the Azerbaijani people. She highlighted that this victory reflects the collective will, unity, and determination of the nation.
Within the framework of the event, the results of the “Best Scientific Article of the Year” competition, held among young researchers in honor of the 80th anniversary of ANAS and the 5th anniversary of November 8 - Victory Day, were also announced. The researchers who distinguished themselves in the competition — Arzu Mammadli, Namig Heydarov, and Seljan Hajiyeva — were presented with diplomas by the Institute’s management.
In addition, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of ANAS, the Institute’s management presented honorary certificates to employees who have distinguished themselves in their scientific work: Doctor of Philosophy in Physics, Associate Professor Oktay Salamov, and Doctor of Chemistry, Associate Professor Zenfira Iskanderova.
