The next meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems
The next meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The meeting discussed a number of important issues related to the scientific research and organizational activities of the institute.
First, the results of the international conference on "The Impact of Military Conflicts on the Environment", held within the framework of the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty", were presented. The conference provided an extensive analysis of the environmental consequences and radiation risks associated with modern conflicts.
The results of admission to doctoral and dissertation studies for 2025 were announced and presented to the members of the Scientific Council. At the same time, the Council approved the change in the dissertation topic of Nigar Haziyeva, a doctoral student specializing in "Radioecology - 2226.01", and the appointment of a second scientific supervisor. The proposed change in the dissertation topic of Ramil Akbarov, a doctoral student in "Radiation Materials Science - 2225.01", was also positively reviewed and endorsed.
The issue of submitting the scientific topics of doctoral and dissertation students to the Coordination Council was also raised at the meeting.
It was decided to establish a commission to review the documents of Narmin Guliyeva, Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry and the head of the Educational Department of the Institute, for obtaining the academic title of Associate Professor. In addition, the applications of Haji Vahid Akhundzade, the Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of “Radiation Chemistry of Heterogeneous Processes”, and Rana Khankishiyeva, the Senior Researcher at the Laboratory of “Radiation Chemistry and Technology of Polymers”, both Doctors of Philosophy in Chemistry, for the academic title of Associate Professor were also considered.
The meeting also addressed the transfer of doctoral students from the National Nuclear Research Center CJSC to the Institute of Radiation Problems.
A report was presented on the implementation of strategic documents, state programmes and action plans approved by the relevant decisions of the Cabinet of Ministers. The meeting concluded with a discussion of current issues.
