Another scientific seminar took place at RPI

[03.09.2025]

The next scientific seminar was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems, Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the opening of the seminar, the executive director of the institute, associate professor Ravan Mehdiyeva, highlighted the importance of the topics under discussion. She noted that the application of radiation technologies in modern science and industry are continually expanding. Such scientific discussions not only pave the way for new research directions but also encourage doctoral students to think more freely and take scientific initiative.

At the seminar, doctoral student Ilaha Abdullayeva delivered a presentation on the topic "Thermo and magnetothermoelectric properties of γ-ray modified Bi₀.₈₅Sb₀.₁₅ solid solution". She explained the scientific basis for the structural changes observed in the Bi₀.₈₅Sb₀.₁₅ semiconductor material as a result of γ-ray irradiation and their impact on thermoelectric and magnetothermoelectric parameters. The potential applications of the material were also presented to the participants.

Next, doctoral student Afsun Abiyev presented on the topic "The effect of gamma radiation and thermal treatment on the structural properties of TiN nanocrystals." He explained, on a scientific basis, the structural changes that occur in TiN (Titanium Nitride) nanocrystals under the influence of radiation and thermal treatment, as well as the impact of these changes on the material’s functional properties.

Question-and-answer sessions followed by scientific discussions were held at the conclusion of both presentations.
