An event was organized at the Institute of Physics in celebration of the Novruz and Ramadan holidays
On March 18, 2026, an event was organized at the Institute of Physics, a public legal entity of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, in celebration of the Novruz and Ramadan holidays. The event was opened with an introductory speech by Professor Elchin Huseynov, Acting Director of the Institute.
Professor Elchin Huseynov emphasized that the Novruz holiday is characterized by its ancient roots and long-standing traditions. Novruz is an ancient folk holiday that embodies the culture and national spiritual values of our people and introduces them to the world. With its long history, it is a valuable legacy inherited from our ancestors. Throughout history, the Novruz holiday has played an important role in the formation of national consciousness and ideology, encouraging people to live in accordance with high moral values and norms while celebrating purity and essential human values. Symbolizing the revival of life, Novruz has, for centuries, led our people toward a bright future and a hopeful tomorrow. It has established solid foundations for peace and security, strengthening unity, kindness, and mutual care among people.
During the first period of his leadership in Azerbaijan, the National Leader of our people, Heydar Aliyev, despite the restrictions imposed by the Soviet government, showed special respect for the factors that fostered the development of national spirit. Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, who highly valued our national traditions, including the Novruz holiday, stated about this holiday: “Novruz is one of the holidays that our people have preserved and cherished for centuries throughout history. Its history, like that of the Azerbaijani people, has been turbulent, marked by both highs and lows. The state-level celebration of this great holiday in our independent republic reflects our deep respect for national roots, traditions, and historical heritage and our unbreakable unity.”
Then the floor was given to the institute’s employees. Corresponding Member of ANAS Salima Mehdiyeva, Associate Professor Ravan Mehdiyeva, Doctor of Sciences Tarana Nurubayli, Chair of the Trade Union Committee, Doctor of Philosophy in Physics Sitara Baghirova, and research associate Bayram Khudayarov spoke, sincerely congratulating the institute’s staff on the upcoming Novruz and Ramadan holidays and expressing their best wishes and heartfelt greetings.
