Another Achievement by a Scientist from the Institute of Physics
Another significant milestone has been achieved in the field of radiobiology in Azerbaijan’s scientific community. The scientific monograph entitled “A Study in Plant Radiobiology: Responses to Ionizing Radiation,” co-authored by Elimkhan Jafarov, Doctor of Biological Sciences and Professor at the Institute of Physics PLE under the Ministry of Science and Education, and Anar Jafarov, was published in 2026 by the prestigious UK-based publishing house Cambridge Scholars Publishing.
The 368-page work was published in both print and electronic formats on July 15, 2026, and has been made available to the international scientific community. The print edition was assigned ISBN 978-1-0364-7519-2, while the electronic edition was assigned ISBN 978-1-0364-7520-8. Information about the publication has also been made available on the publisher’s official website.
The international publication of the work not only demonstrates the scientific potential of Azerbaijani researchers but also highlights the scientific significance of research conducted in the country in the fields of radiobiology and radioecology. The work provides an extensive analysis of the changes induced by ionizing radiation in plants, various biological responses, and the patterns underlying these effects.
The authors have summarized the findings of scientific studies on plant radiobiology conducted over different periods and presented a systematic scientific approach to the mechanisms through which ionizing radiation affects plant organisms.
This publication can be regarded as an important step toward promoting the Azerbaijani school of radiobiology in the international scientific community and is of particular significance in bringing the fundamental research of local scientists to the attention of the global scientific community.
