Scientific and industrial cooperation between the Institute of Physics and “Norm” Cement Plant has been discussed
On August 3, 2026, a meeting was held between representatives of the Institute of Physics PLE and representatives of “Norm” Cement Plant to discuss opportunities for scientific and technological cooperation.
The meeting, initiated and organized by the Laboratory of Radiation Chemistry and Radiochemistry, focused on the integration and commercialization of scientific findings in industrial production, the resolution of technological and environmental challenges arising in the cement production process through scientific approaches, as well as the prospects for implementing innovative materials and technologies.
During the discussions, an exchange of views was held on identifying research areas in line with industrial needs, utilizing laboratory facilities, recycling industrial waste and converting it into useful products, improving product quality indicators, as well as exploring opportunities for implementing joint research and innovation projects.
The meeting was attended by Rena Khankishiyeva, Head of the Laboratory of Radiation Chemistry and Radiochemistry and PhD in Chemistry; Namiq Heydarov, Head of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office; Haji Vahid Akhundzadeh, Senior Researcher and PhD in Chemistry; and Vugar Khudaverdiyev, Lead Engineer and PhD in Physics, representing the Institute of Physics.
“Norm” Cement Plant was represented by Khayyam Valiyev, Head of Quality Assurance and Quality Control and PhD in Chemistry, and Rüfət Oguzturk, Lead Engineer of the department.
At the end of the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of strengthening effective links between science and industry and agreed to develop specific scientific and technical proposals in areas of mutual interest and to continue cooperation.
