The Institute of Physics continues its series of meetings between the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (ITTO) and the Institute's research laboratories
On 24 July 2026, the Institute of Physics, a Public Legal Entity under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, hosted another meeting between the staff of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (ITTO) and the researchers of the Acousto-Optics Laboratory as part of the Institute's ongoing series of laboratory meetings.
Opening the meeting, Professor Oktay Taghiyev, Head of the Laboratory, welcomed the participants and delivered a comprehensive presentation on the laboratory's main research areas. He highlighted the laboratory's studies on the luminescence properties of rare-earth elements, the investigation of the physical mechanisms underlying these materials, and research into Stokes and anti-Stokes luminescence phenomena. Professor Taghiyev also outlined the potential industrial applications of the laboratory's research outcomes and emphasized their significance for the development of innovative technologies.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Professor Oktay Taghiyev provided an overview of the laboratory's research infrastructure and the projects being carried out under his leadership. He also introduced the laboratory's existing facilities and technical capabilities, showcasing its research potential to the staff of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (ITTO).
During the meeting, PhD Samir Azizov and PhD Sevinj Azimova, members of the laboratory, delivered comprehensive presentations on the patents they have obtained and the research projects they have successfully implemented. Subsequently, Gulnaz Dashdemirova, a researcher at the laboratory, introduced the design and synthesis of biomimetic and biological materials, highlighting their emerging applications and potential in various scientific and technological fields.
In turn, Namiq Heydarov, Head of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (ITTO), provided the participants with a comprehensive overview of the Office's key areas of activity, its strategic objectives, and the initiatives planned for future implementation. He also outlined the Office's role in promoting innovation, facilitating technology transfer, and strengthening collaboration between scientific research and industry.
The meeting continued in an interactive atmosphere, fostering open discussion and the exchange of ideas, with participants' questions being addressed in detail. Discussions also focused on the practical application of scientific research, the development of innovative projects, and opportunities to facilitate the transfer of research outcomes to industry through effective commercialization and technology transfer initiatives.
