A Series of Meetings Between the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office and Laboratory Staff Continues at the Institute of Physics
On 17 July 2026, another meeting was held at the Institute of Physics, a Public Legal Entity under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, between the staff of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (TTO) and the researchers of the Electrical Engineering and High Voltage Physics Laboratory.
Opening the meeting, the Head of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (TTO), Namiq Heydarov, provided the participants with a comprehensive overview of the Office’s areas of activity, its key objectives, and the initiatives undertaken to transform scientific research outcomes into innovative products.
Following this, the Head of the Electrical Engineering and High Voltage Physics Laboratory, Doctor of Physical Sciences Tarana Nurubayli, welcomed the participants and delivered a comprehensive presentation on the laboratory’s main areas of research. She emphasized that each researcher in the laboratory is engaged in a specialized field of scientific investigation. During the presentation, she highlighted the laboratory’s research activities, including elemental analysis using mass spectrometry, the analysis of transformer oils, and studies aimed at developing high-quality cotton varieties. These research directions attracted considerable interest from the participants.
The meeting continued with presentations by the laboratory’s researchers, Associate Professor Ulker Samadova, PhD in Physics, and Ilhama Zekiyeva, PhD in Physics. They provided a comprehensive overview of their research activities, focusing on environmental protection, efficient energy utilization, the synthesis of novel functional materials, and the investigation of their physical and functional properties.
The seminar continued with a presentation by the laboratory’s researcher, Associate Professor Shafaq Ahadzada, PhD in Physics, who provided a detailed overview of the fabrication, characterization, and potential applications of thin-film composite varistors based on semiconducting polymers incorporating various ceramic phases.
The meeting continued with an interactive discussion and exchange of ideas, during which the participants' questions were addressed in detail.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Head of the Innovation and Technology Transfer Office (TTO), Namiq Heydarov, and the Head of the Electrical Engineering and High Voltage Physics Laboratory, Tarana Nurubayli, expressed their appreciation to the participants for their active engagement. They emphasized that meetings of this kind make a significant contribution to expanding scientific collaboration, promoting innovative ideas, and creating new opportunities for the transfer of research outcomes to industry.
