The Institute of Physics Explores Opportunities for Scientific Collaboration with Bursa Uludağ University of Türkiye

On 9 July 2026, the Institute of Physics, Public Legal Entity of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted a meeting to discuss opportunities for scientific collaboration with Professor Ayshegul Kahraman of the Department of Nuclear Physics and Associate Professor Murshide Hajiismayiloglu of the Department of Solid State Physics, both from the Faculty of Science and Letters at Bursa Uludag University, Turkiye.

At the meeting, Professor Ayshegul Kahraman presented an overview of the research conducted by her group, highlighting studies on the modelling, fabrication, and characterization of microelectronic devices, field-effect transistor (FET)-based radiation sensors, as well as silicon (Si)- and gallium nitride (GaN)-based photodiodes. Associate Professor Murshide Hajiismayiloglu then introduced her research activities in the fields of energy storage devices, spintronics, and optoelectronic materials, and presented the scientific achievements of her team in the development and application of functional materials.

During the meeting, the participants engaged in an extensive exchange of views on ongoing research in the field of functional materials physics and its diverse areas of application. The discussions focused on opportunities for joint research on high-capacity supercapacitors, the development of new avenues for scientific collaboration, as well as ongoing studies on the synthesis and fabrication of materials using the electrochemical deposition (electrodeposition) technique.

Representatives of the Institute of Physics presented an overview of the Institute’s ongoing research and notable achievements in the development of CdZnTe-based detectors and plasma photodetectors. They also proposed initiating joint research on the fabrication of TiO₂-based capacitor structures and discussed opportunities to further expand collaboration in this promising area of research.

The meeting also featured discussions on ongoing research in the fields of thermoelectric materials, functional materials for nanoelectronics, and photodetectors operating in the infrared (IR) spectrum. The participants further explored opportunities for implementing future joint research projects in these areas, emphasizing the potential for strengthening long-term scientific collaboration.
