A thematic tour to the Karabakh region was organized for the participants as part of the program of the international conference on the "Environmental Impact of Military Conflicts".

During the tour, which covered the cities of Aghdam, Khojaly, Khankendi, and Shusha, the delegation observed firsthand the environmental consequences of the conflict.

Participants received detailed information about mined areas, destroyed forests, and polluted water sources during the visit. They were also informed about the damage the war had caused to infrastructure systems.

The conference participants also examined the ecological rehabilitation measures implemented by the Azerbaijani government in the region. Presentations highlighted greening projects, waste management initiatives, and efforts to protect biodiversity.

The closing ceremony of the Conference took place at an open-air gathering in Ganja Gate Square in Shusha.

It should be noted that the visit was also attended by representatives from Sudan, Ukraine, Russia, Georgia and brotherly Turkey. Representatives of the countries affected by the conflict exchanged views on their environmental challenges and restoration experiences, and evaluated the work carried out in Karabakh in an international context.

The primary goal of this initiative was to objectively assess the ecological situation in post-conflict areas and to become acquainted with the ongoing restoration processes on the ground. The visit is also regarded as an important step toward strengthening environmental diplomacy and fostering international cooperation.
