An event dedicated to the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty" was held in the Gakh region
An event was held in the Gakh region as a part of the "Year of Constitution and Sovereignty". The meeting featured addresses by Islam Mustafayev, Director General of the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education and Corresponding Member of ANAS; Associate Professor Hokmen Mahmudov, Head of the Laboratory; and Shahin Hajiyev, Junior Researcher.
In his report, I. Mustafayev provided a brief overview of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, highlighting that two articles in it, Articles 39 and 78 are related to the Environment. He explained that Article 39 establishes citizens’ right to live in a clean environment, while Article 78 outlines their responsibilities in this area.
In this context, the event addressed the development of environmental legislation in the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as relevant policy documents, including international conventions and agreements. The discussions emphasized the need to implement climate change mitigation and adaptation measures, identified as priorities for addressing environmental challenges, and explored ways to use renewable energy sources.
