An event dedicated to the Day of Restoration of Independence was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems
An event dedicated to the October 18 – Day of Restoration of Independence was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The event was opened by the Director General of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS Islam Mustafayev, who spoke about the history of Azerbaijan’s independence, the sacrifices made along this path, and the country’s strong traditions of statehood. He said:
“This history represents one of the most glorious pages of our nation — the embodiment of our people's struggle for freedom, their national will, and determination to preserve statehood. On October 18, 1991, the independence of our country was officially restored through the Constitutional Act adopted by the Supreme Soviet of the Republic of Azerbaijan.”
Then, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was played. The cherished memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland was honored with a minute of silence.
In her speech, Executive Director of the Institute Ravan Mehdiyeva highlighted the profound historical and spiritual significance of October 18 for the people of Azerbaijan.
In conclusion, the institute’s employees expressed their heartfelt congratulations and shared their thoughts on this momentous day.
