An Event Dedicated to the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” Held at the Institute
An event dedicated to the declaration of 2026 as the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” in the Republic of Azerbaijan was held at the Institute of Radiation Problems on February 25, 2026. The declaration was made by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 22, 2025.
Opening the event with an introductory speech, the Executive Director of the Institute, Ravan Mehdiyeva, informed the participants about the Decree and noted that the Thirteenth Session of the UN World Urban Forum will be held in Baku in May 2026. She emphasized that Azerbaijan will host this prestigious international event and added that various activities are planned at the Institute in connection with the Forum, taking into account its international significance and its importance for the country.
The floor was then given to Yegana Kerimli, a lecturer at the Department of Architectural Design and Urban Planning of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction. She delivered a report entitled “Sustainable Urban Planning and Modern Architectural Approaches in Azerbaijan.”
At the end of the event, the speaker answered numerous questions from the participants.
